TETRA handheld with built-in LTE and Wi-Fi

The Motorola Solutions TETRA handheld radio launched in 2024 with built-in LTE and Wi-Fi. Outside TETRA coverage, it switches to the available broadband network via DIMETRA Connect and keeps its DIMETRA groups and functions. It accepts most MXP600 accessories.

The MXP660 in the field

How the MXP660 meets the needs of teams who move outside TETRA network coverage.

01 Context A rescue team is working on the outskirts of a city, where the organisation's TETRA network no longer provides coverage.
02 Challenge Without coverage, the officer no longer receives group calls or status messages from the control centre.
03 Response The MXP660 automatically switches to the available 4G or Wi-Fi via DIMETRA Connect. It keeps its groups, statuses and end-to-end encryption.
04 Result The officer stays in the talkgroup, with or without TETRA coverage. DIMETRA Connect must be present on the customer's system.
