01 Context On a refining platform or at a gas terminal, operators work in units where hydrocarbon vapours may be present.
02 Challenge A standard electronic device can cause a spark or a hot spot: it is prohibited in these zones.
03 Response The MTP8550Ex is certified for zones 1 and 21, including group IIC gases. Its fall alert and priority emergency call notify dispatch if an operator stops responding.
04 Result Teams reachable on the TETRA network with equipment compliant with the zone. For zone 0 or 20, a specific study is required.
